Lorne focuses on acquisitions, dispositions, business and legal strategies. He practiced real estate law for more than 20 years and prior to co-founding Pathfinder in 2006, was the head of the Real Estate, Environmental and Land Use team at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch, LLP, San Diego’s largest law firm. Lorne is recognized for his multi-family expertise, having directly participated in the acquisition, disposition, financing and development of apartment, condominium and condominium conversion transactions exceeding $7 billion in value. His law practice included acquisitions, dispositions, developments, financings, foreclosures, reorganizations and workouts, syndications, and leasing, along with residential, office and industrial condominium conversion and construction. Lorne was a finalist in Ernst & Young’s San Diego Entrepreneur of the Year® competition in 2015. He graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from Colorado College, Cum Laude, in 1984 and earned his law degree from UCLA in 1988.

Mitch focuses on developing financial structures and business and financial strategies. Prior to co-founding Pathfinder, He founded and served as CEO of several companies and was a partner in LENSER, Inc. a national management consulting firm. Earlier in his career, Mitch was a partner in Sorrento Associates, Inc., an investment banking firm, where he advised clients on more than 40 financings, mergers, acquisitions and financial restructurings involving both private and public companies and held FNRA Series 7 and 63 licenses and Sorrento Ventures, a private equity firm, where he invested in scores of private financings exceeding one-half billion dollars. He also spent five years as an executive with Anheuser-Busch, Inc. Mitch was a finalist in Ernst & Young’s San Diego Entrepreneur of the Year® competition in 2015. Mitch graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration, with honors, majoring in Finance and Economics from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1982 and an M.B.A., with highest honors from the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School in 1986.

Scot joined Pathfinder in 2008 and oversees Pathfinder’s investment analytics, underwriting and financial analysis. He was a commercial real estate executive for 17 years with Cassidy Turley San Diego, Burnham Real Estate (now Cushman & Wakefield) and CBRE, where he specialized in providing financial advisory and capital market services to investors, developers and lenders for multi-family, industrial, office, retail, hospitality and land projects. He has participated in the acquisition, disposition, development, asset management or financing of more than $8 billion of real estate assets, including 30,000 multi-family units and 20 million square feet of commercial space. Scot graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a B.B.A. in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics in 1993 and an M.B.A., with an emphasis in Finance, from San Diego State University in 1997.

Brent joined Pathfinder in 2008 and is responsible for Pathfinder’s financial, administrative, investor relations, human resources and information technology functions. From 2009 to 2012, Mr. Rivard was the President of a national wealth management firm, where he led the launch of the firm’s broker dealer and proprietary ‘40 Act interval fund. Prior to that, Brent was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for the Grubb & Ellis commercial real estate brokerage affiliate in San Diego (now Newmark Grubb Knight Frank), one of Southern California’s leading privately-held commercial real estate brokerage firms. He was previously Vice President, Finance and Operations at The MHA Group and Vice President, Accounting and Finance/Treasurer at NYSE-traded AMN Healthcare, where he was involved with the placement of more than $1 billion in debt and equity securities and led the company’s mergers and acquisitions practice. Prior to that, Brent worked for Deloitte & Touche. Brent, a Certified Public Accountant, graduated Cum Laude from the University of California, Los Angeles with a B.A. in Business Economics.

Jennifer has advised Pathfinder as outside legal counsel on matters since 2012. She previously practiced real estate, securities and corporate law for 13 years with southern California law firms Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP, and Hillyer & Irwin and as a sole practitioner. She has represented buyers, sellers and owners through purchases, sales, refinancing and leasing of commercial and multi-family properties. Earlier in her career, she spent three years with a national law firm prosecuting federal and state securities litigation class action lawsuits. Jennifer graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration, cum laude, from Skidmore College and received her law degree from the University of Southern California.

Jeff began working with Pathfinder in 2010 and joined the team full-time in 2012. Prior to joining Pathfinder, he worked as a CPA focused on real estate and technology clients. Previously, he was the CFO of Lymabean.com, a college-based internet company, and Controller for Best Rate Funding, a mortgage banking company. Jeff has also been an adjunct college instructor for eight years teaching Accounting, Tax, Personal Finance and General Business courses. He began his career at Deloitte & Touche. He received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Accounting from Brigham Young University.

Matt joined Pathfinder in 2009 and is primarily responsible for the firm’s Asset Management activities. Mr. Quinn and the Asset Management team interface with the firm’s property management vendors as well as a variety of contractors, architects and designers. The team also manages the implementation of property-level value-add strategies, revenue growth and expense saving initiatives and asset dispositions. Previously, he worked for Gateway Partners, Inc., a San Diego-based firm which consulted on mergers and acquisitions and with the Wealth Management division of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust. Matt received a B.A. in Business and Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was a four-year recipient of the Regents Scholarship, the University of California's most prestigious scholarship award. He received an M.B.A from the Rady School of Management at the University of California, San Diego, where he was a recipient of the Patricia and Christopher Weil Fellowship Award.

Brent joined Pathfinder in 2015 and assists with financial underwriting and due diligence. Previously, Brent was a real estate finance consultant for White Cap Real Estate, where he focused on debt placement for the firm’s private equity fund. Brent also served as Vice President, Asset Management for White Cap, where he was responsible for overseeing an $80 million multi-tenant portfolio with over a million square feet. Brent previously held senior lending positions as Vice President, Commercial Lending for DMB Bank, McFarland State
Bank and Mid America Bank, where he originated and underwrote in excess of $200 million in real estate loans. He received a B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Anthropology.

Russ is responsible for major construction activities across Pathfinder’s portfolio of properties and assisting with pre-acquisition construction-related due diligence, budgeting and scheduling, Russ previously worked as Director of Operations for a leading, San Diego-based commercial general contractor, overseeing the company’s various construction projects and running the day-to-day operations. Prior to that, Russ worked in construction management and owner representation, overseeing the planning, design and construction of multifamily, “mixed use”, retail, and historical renovation projects in both the public and private sector. Russ graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Construction Management.

Nickie joined Pathfinder in 2013 and is involved with the firm’s investor relations, in-house legal activities and marketing. From 2010-2013, she worked for a national foreclosure law firm and trustee company. Earlier in her career, Nickie worked for San Diego Commercial Finance, a private finance company. She graduated from San Diego State University in 2007 with a B.A. in Political Science and also received her Paralegal certification from the University of San Diego. While attending San Diego State, Nickie was a member of The Protection Project, a non-profit human rights research and training institute based at The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

Chris joined Pathfinder’s asset management team in 2014. Previously, Chris was an Asset Manager for Trigild, Inc., a national commercial real estate management, fiduciary and advisory firm. He worked from the firm’s San Diego, Washington, D.C., and Charlotte, NC offices and oversaw portfolios, comprised of various property types and of up to two million square feet. Chris previously worked as an Acquisitions Analyst with RedHill Realty Investors, a San Diego-based real estate private equity firm specializing in opportunistic multifamily investments. Chris graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Business Administration, majoring in Commercial Real Estate and competed as an NCAA Division I Alpine Ski Racer for Montana State University in Bozeman. Chris is an active member in ULI’s Young Leaders Group and NAIOP.

Aaron joined Pathfinder’s asset management team in 2016. Previously, he held senior management positions in two San Diego-based real estate investment firms where he was responsible for overseeing the acquisition, asset management and disposition of over $100 million in residential real estate assets. Aaron previously worked as a Senior Associate for Fident Capital, Inc., where he procured equity and debt financing for real estate development projects. He also served as Acquisition Analyst for the San Diego division of John Laing Homes, supporting the acquisition of over $200 million in assets. Aaron graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Graphic Communication. He received his MBA from the University of San Diego, where he was a recipient of the California Building Industry Ernest W. Hahn Scholarship Award and the Mickey Carhart Memorial Scholarship Award.

Previously, Amanda was an intern with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as a campus ambassador and an event coordinator for the Fermanian Business and Economic Institute at Point Loma Nazarene University. Amanda graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a B.A. in Business Administration.

Wes joined Pathfinder’s asset management team in 2021. Previously, Wes spent ten years in the multifamily loan origination/underwriting and asset management departments at Freddie Mac, a major national lender. Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Wes was involved in the renovation and lease-up of multifamily properties in the Washington, DC area with Carmel Partners. Wes graduated from Dickinson College, with a B.S. in History, and is an active member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) as a CPM candidate. Wes is an avid skier and mountain biker, and currently resides in Denver, Colorado.
